MD Needle Pen
What is an MD Needle Pen?
The MD Needle Pen is an ingenious instrument that gently stimulates the skin with very fine needles. This microneedling process promotes natural collagen and elastin production, which in turn, encourages smoother, softer and younger-looking skin.
What are the benefits?
The good news, particularly for sensitive patients, is that this minimally invasive therapeutic procedure is safe and painless. Recovery time is swift after the microinjections, and visible improvements are noticeable after just a few sessions.
Who is a good candidate for an MD needle pen?
Microneedling with an MD Needle Pen is gentle and effective – and can help alleviate a host of troubling skin concerns for men and women of all skin types and colors. It is not advised for anyone who has recently had Botox injections, spent time sunbathing, or used creams containing glycolic acid, retinol or hydroquinone within three days before their treatment.
The ideal candidates for this innovative outpatient procedure are those experiencing any – or many – of the following conditions:
- Sagging, aging skin
- Enlarged pores
- Sun-damaged skin
- Loss of elasticity or muscle tone in the face
- Blotchy, uneven skin tone
- Acne or other traumatic scars
- Dry, rough-textured skin
- Stretch marks
- Hyperpigmentation (age spots) or melasma (dark patches)
How does the process work?
Otherwise known as Collagen Induction Therapy, microneedling therapy involves the judicious use of an MD Needle Pen to rejuvenate tired, lackluster skin. The process works in tandem with the body’s natural healing process to achieve optimal results.
Deftly wielding the pen to gently puncture the skin, your Ecobeautica aesthetician will create controlled “micro wounds.” This will trigger the body to initiate collagen and elastin production to fill those tiny wounds, as well as form new capillaries to boost blood supply. By so doing, the skin needling process will gently encourage the body to repair itself – resulting in a refreshed, rejuvenated and renewed complexion.
A typical microneedling procedure takes between 30 and 60 minutes. Depending on your unique skin needs, our aestheticians may recommend a series of three to six procedures – with two-week intervals in-between – for maximum benefits.
What can I expect after the treatment is over?
Recover time is brief (any redness should disappear within 20 minutes), so you can resume your regular daily routine as soon as you leave our medical day spa. You’ll want to clean, moisturize and protect your skin from irritation, being cautious to avoid skincare products containing white petrolatum, ethyl alcohol, lanolin or chemical sunscreens.
